Aiyana and her parents came into the studio just one week after she was born. Only a few days before Christmas, the weather was cloudy and cold, but inside the studio, we had the heat cranked up and blankets everywhere in preparation for this precious newborn. This little one’s middle name is Summer Rain. Is that not perfect? I can only imagine how beautiful this baby will grow up to be, because she is already gorgeous.
I was excited when Cailey, Aiyana’s mother, contacted me for this session because she said she was looking for a newborn shoot that would capture natural moments of her new child. I love newborn photos that evoke a lifestyle-feel; images that feature this fresh new life just as they are. Sweet. Precious. Perfect. Looking through these images, you can literally feel the love emanating between husband and wife and flowing into their new loved one. I love nothing more than seeing a husband lean into his wife to give her a head-kiss while holding their tiny baby in his big man hands. I can’t express to mothers-to-be how important these kinds of sessions are. Of course in our day with so much technology is it wonderfully easy to take tons of photos of our loved little ones, but taking the time–even hours–to really notice these details of your baby that you know will fade all too quickly. These are the little things you want to capture, remember, and cherish. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoy looking at them!
